||Canal Society of New York State
||On Thursday, June 6th, the Society will visit the Hudson River Maritime Museum in Kingston, NY (Rondout). On the afternoon we will have a special tour of their very remarkable facilities including their Erie Canal exhibit (which the Society assisted on). At 6 PM we will board the "Rip Van Winkle" for the Museum's noted two-hour tour of lighthouses and other sites on the Hudson with scholarly commentary (and refreshments).
On Friday, June 7th, the group reconvenes in the afternoon at the New York State Museum for a tour of its Erie Canal Bicentennial exhibit (which also features Society artifacts).
Details for the trip have yet to be finalized, but other sites will be included to round out the trip.
