30 May 2017 Welland Public Library At 7:00 pm Mike Babiski will give a presentation "Helmet Diving from the Past". This is part of the series the Library is running in conjunction with the Welland Canal Fallen Workers Memorial.
9 & 10 June 2017 Niagara College The Tall Ship Empire Sandy will visit St Catharines. Friday night is a dinner cruise, on Saturday the cruise will discuss the War of 1812 with narrative by former Canadian Canal Society member Wesley Turner. Follow this link for details and registration:

1 - 3 September 2017 Canal Society of Indiana A one-day Mississippi River Cruise is being planned for the Fall Tour. The Tour will be based in Galena, IL
24 – 28 September 2017 Erie Canal National Heritage Corridor, New York State Canal Corporation, and, Syracuse Convention and Visitor Bureau World Canals Conference 2017 will be based in Syracuse, New York. Twenty-seventeen will mark the 200th Anniversary of the start of construction on the Erie Canal. See:
