||To Celebrate the opening of the Centennial of the opening of the New York State Barge a Symposium will be held at the Theater of Play at the Strong Museum in Rochester. ||The Canadian Canal Society will hold its AGM at Rodman Hall, St Catharines at 1:30 pm on Sunday, 27 May 2018.
At 2:30 pm (public admitted after 2:00 pm), Marine Archeologist Kimberly Monk will give a presentation, "Great Men and Staunch Ships: Investigating the Shickluna Shipyard'. Professor Monk has submitted an application to carry out an archeological dig at the Shickluna site, follow this link for details from the application, www.digmaritime.com/shickluna-shipyard.
Following the presentation Professor Monk will lead interested people down the hill to the Shickluna site where she will discusss the site and the plans for "the dig". Estimated completion time for all events is 5:00 pm.
